This PUGNAT key piece is an eyecatcher. It is supposed to keep your ears warm and at the same time mute the sound of the surrounding. It is a statement and will be noticed from youngsters to aged ladies. Some say it reminds of “Princess Leia” but Antje was inspired by renaissance hairstyles.
The Snail hat is designed and made in Berlin. We used a mixture of crocheting and knitting techniques to design it. The hat is knitted from 100% Biagioli Cashmere yarn. Filati Biagioli Modesto is part of the Sustainable Firbre Alliance and one of the 21members of the CCMI, committed to quality cashmere products.
Care Guide for Cashmere Hand-Knit Items
PUGNAT’s cashmere hand-knits need not be dry cleaned – as a rule, they can be machine-washed in cold water on the hand wash or wool wash settings. A small amount of high-quality, liquid wool detergent insures good results. After washing, the garment can become tumbled on air fluff (no heat) for 5 min. in the dryer, which restores its soft, fine, typical cashmere volume. Afterwards, the garment should be laid out on a towel to dry.
After wearing, PUGNAT’s hand-knits should be aired out.
After the first few wearings, you will find a few little balls or ‘pills’ on your new cashmere garment. These are formed when some of the fibers become detached from the soft, twisted cashmere as a result of rubbing. These pills are easily removed, whether by hand, with a velvet brush, or using cashmere shaver. Diligent care will flatter your hand-knit, it will become softer, and more and more a treasured piece.
